OK, Im going to be here with my lap top watching the game. I will be posting updates as to what is happening, and whatnot. Anyway, enjoy. *drum roll please*...........Ladies and Gentleman, The Live Blog! *everyone cheers*
9:20-I finish playing Madden 2007 and tune into Raptors Game Day with my laptop at hand
9:35-I think Jack Armstrong has gotten his sports mixed up. Whenever he talks about pg's, he calls them quarterbacks. That's getting pretty annoying...I'm waiting for the game to start now...getting impatient..
10:01-Finally, after snoozing through Raptors Gameday, i'll be watching the game soon
10:03-Darrick Martin affiliates Calderon's success with Garbajosa being here. I agree, I think that has helped Calderon's confidence a ton10:.
10:06-Apparently Melo gave 3 million dollars to Syracuse. Jeez man, you were only there for one year...
10:11-Melo is sporting braided pigtails today. Melo - tone it down with the girlish game hairstyles
10:11-Raptors win the tip, and the game begins!
10:16-Camby's shot hits nothing but backboard. Ugly!
10:17-Garbajosa is continuously left wide open. He's hit two straight. 12-12 game.
10:18-Wow! The Nuggets perimeter defense has sucked so far. Freddy Jones was left wide open, as he hits a three.
10:18-It's raining J's here in Denver. There's 6:05 left in the 1st, and we've already scored 21! We've hit practically every jumper we've taken because we were left wide open every time.
10:23-Melo with a nifty behind the shoulder pass to Najera. I'm still waiting for some defense to be played.
10:23-Garbo is hot! 8 points with 4:00 left in the 1st. He has yet to be guarded.
10:25-TJ Ford has 8 assists with 3:24 left in the 1st!
10:26-The 30 point mark is eclipsed with still 3 minutes left in the quarter, as Fred hits a wide open three.
10:26-It's very frustrating. This is the best Ive seen our offense play yet this year, but we're only up by 5 because our defense is also playing like shit.
10:29-We're shooting 75%!
10:31-Calderon with a steal, but then promptly throws the ball away. Reggie Evans gets the dunk, and the foul.
10:33-Calderon continues to ruin our momentum. First he throws it away, next he mises a lay up, and now it went off his foot out of bounds.
10:34-I'm starting to lose it. Im sick of Sam taking Bosh and Ford out right when we start to get momentum. Now, we're playing like shit, and the Nuggs have a 4 point lead.
10:35-The Quarter ends. 38-36 Nuggets. We need to start playing some D.
10:43-OMG! No defense at all. I'm starting to get angry. It's a very bad time to be a Raptor fan.
10:47-Yes! Bosh And1 down low lay up. We're starting to get back our momentum. 44-50 Nuggets.
10:49-Game tied up at 50. We've made 3 straight stops. That has to be a season record! Tj with 10 assists with 6 minutes or so left in the 2nd. What's the franchise assist record?
10:52-Reggie Evans is owning us on the glass. He's got 7 boards in 9 minutes. We've got to box the dude out.
10:54-JR Smith with three straight 3's. Put a body on the dude
10:55-Parker and Jones answer with consecutive threes. 58-59 Nuggets.
11:01-Our defensive rebounding has been pretty pathetic. Najera gets a board, and gets to the stripes
11:04-The first half ends. 64-58 Nuggets. We struggled offensively in the final two minutes.
11:23-JR Smith is taking way too many 3's.
11:32-TJ Ford breaks his career high assist mark. He's got 15 in the middle of the 3rd.
11:34-TJ Ford starting to hit his jumpers too. On a side note, I wonder if Kris Humphries is leading the league in Dunks per 48 minutes..
11:42-....And...we're back in the ball game. 82-80 Nuggets.
11:47-89-84 Nuggets, after the 3rd. TJ Ford is having an amazing ball game. 18 points, and 15 assists. It's too bad that our team cant play a lick of defense, or we might be winning by 10 instead of trailing by 5.
12:13-Uh...the ball game is slipping away. Another Raptor loss. Sam Mitchell better whip our guys into playing defense, or else we wont be getting wins anytime soon. 117 points given up. Nice job, guys.
This concludes the live blog..Raptors win! Raptors win! Raptors win! Oh wait.....we're the Raptors........

Chris Bosh is playing with a ladder!
I swear he is. How else do you explain his sudden increase in rebounding? Does he want the ball more? Has he gotten stronger? What is it. Well, whatever it is, I'm fine with it. He's been averaging 13.4 rpg. Compare that with last year's 9.2, and you've got a brainteaser on your hands. Chris Bosh is more athletic than his oppenents, and I have just seen him go up and get it on both ends. He's been a freak on the boards. I'm not saying that he'll average this, but it is possible for him to get 11 rpg. Wait, cross that out. I damn sure expect him to get 11 rpg with the way he has been rebounding the ball this year!
Someone pour some cold water on our team
Well, once again the Raptors have dug themselves into a huge hole to start the season. Of course, everyone expected us to lose to the Nets, and Spurs, so I wasnt as frustrated as I am now with thoose prototypical losses. We also beat the 76ers and the Bucks. Now they aren't great, but they are pretty solid NBA clubs, both probably around the middle of the pack of the league. Both have dominant scorers, and I was impressed that we were able to beat both of these clubs.
Now, what bothers me is that we go out and lose 4 straight after that. The Hawks are the Cleveland Browns of the League. When's the last time they made the playoffs? I certainly wasnt watching basketball at that time. Joe Johnson is a great player, yes, and a very good scorer, but he should never have went off like that. We let him score 34 points, a total which he should have never had. We let him have open jumpshot after open jumpshot, and he capitalized. And how did we defend Josh Smith? Oh, that's right. We let him have his freaking career high of 29 after Joe Johnson already scored in the 30's.. It was just pathetic. Both of them were always left open for threes, and they just hit them. I thought our perimeter defense would be better with the additions of solid defenders in Fred Jones, and Anthony Parker. But I guess our guys like proving me wrong.
Next was Sacramento. Same thing. Pathetic defense. After we let 'em score 36 in the first quarter, I just knew the game was over. After that we took on Golden State and the Lakers. We were in both of these games, but failed to capitalize in the 4th, and win them. I think some of that blame has to go to Sam Mitchell. It's the coaches job to make sure we play well in the 4th. And now we end up 2-6 and facing good teams in the Nuggets and the Jazz. I dont see us getting both of those at all. Our best hope is to get one, and start out 3-7. I hope Sam Mitchell gives our guy's an earful at practice, or we might just lose both of those.
Someone tell the Raptors that the NBA season has begun.
